The songs and raps include subjects such as colors, shapes, elements of art, principles of design, Vincent van Gogh, Michelangelo and more. Raps are used to introduce each song. I will use it as a warm up to introduce colors, shapes, or as a review at the end of a class. Sometimes I will base a whole Art history lesson around a song. Bring out paintings from Vincent van Gogh as you are singing a song about him.

This is a play written around all of the songs and raps in Volume I CD. It takes place in Mrs. Hues' art room. Mrs. Hues is an energetic, valley girl, rock star type teacher. She gets all of her students rapping, clapping and singing about art. Some of the other characters include a nerd, a cheerleader, a principal, and more. The stage can be set up simply with student chairs and desks and a few art classroom props. You and your children will have a blast putting this musical on at your school! Sometimes I let the students just act out the parts in the classroom for an art appreciation lesson. I keep a few props and costumes for class use. My students love watching their peers act and sing.
